Room
Earl’s Regency Hotel has 104 rooms split between the main building, the South Wing and the Knuckles Wing. An ideal choice of accommodation in Kandy, each of our beautifully appointed rooms has its own balcony with views over the river, lush hills and distant mountains. Local materials are used throughout, from the wooden floors and furniture to the herbs in the custom-made toiletries. The relief of a young palm tree that you’ll see on your bedroom wall is a Sri Lankan symbol of prosperity and growth. All rooms are supplied with every comfort, including fan and air conditioning, TV with satellite and local channels, a fully-stocked minibar, tea and coffee-making equipment, free bottled water, hairdryer, telephone and safe. For families we can provide free cots for babies or a third bed at a price. We also have some interconnecting rooms if you would like more privacy.
Deluxe Room
Our luxury hotel in Kandy offers deluxe rooms that are spacious and well laid out, with a writing desk, couch and tub chairs, as well as a private balcony.

Traditional Sri Lankan food is a wonderful mix of taste, colour and aroma. Because the island’s location made it a popular stopping-off point for foreign traders, indigenous spices such as cinnamon and cloves have been enriched by diverse culinary influences from around the world. For example, the Arabs introduced saffron and rose water, while the Portuguese not only brought chillies to the island but also culinary terms such as “temper”, which is derived from the Portuguese word temperado, meaning to fry and season. The Dutch introduced recipes rich in eggs and butter, like Breudher, a Dutch Christmas cake. There are also Malay influences, such as the steamed dessert watalappam and the rice dishes pilau and biriyani.
